About Us

Ysgol Y Plas is a Church Aided County Primary School established in 1865.

As a Church School the Governors and staff recognise the importance of the Christian Faith in the education of our pupils and we maintain close links with the Parish and Church of St Elian.

The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice, encouraging pupils to grow and learn together in faith, through the experience it offers to all pupils and our core values of Friendship, Perseverance and Respect.

Ysgol Y Plas is a small school set in a beautiful rural setting approximately a mile from the village of Llanelian. We are a popular school, proud of our achievements and with a strong reputation in the local community.

We encourage parents to get involved in the life of the school so that we work together for the development of the child as a whole. The staff are always more than willing to discuss any queries or concerns.

The aim of the education system is to create situations and provide resources that will enable each child to develop a full personality, to develop and exercise all his or her abilities, to provide for the pupil in accordance with his/her age, ability and aptitude, so that he/she is able to become a responsible member of society, able to contribute to that society and benefit from it.
